I agree that there is excellent coverage of what games are on and easily accessed by the GAA fraternity. This is very positive. What I was referring to was maybe going beyond our traditional fan base and letting people who have never seen a Hurling or Gaelic football match 'experience' it! I'm not sure how you target, plan or promote that but it could be the highlight of many a person's holiday? And once it started with all the social media at their disposal it could be self promoting. It could be a cultural experience that they might never savour again! That Game of Thrones stuff has brought loads of folk in and around North Antrim every day - from everywhere.

Good to see the updates regarding all teams out competing at the weekend. From a PR perspective I think it would be nice to see the names (and clubs) representing each of the panels.

Good feedback and noted Sean. Thank you.

Antrim are starting to build, Picking up pieces from social media and speaking to parents the underage boys had a good day on Saturday both in Belfast and at Castledawson. The results from the underage County Development Squad matches were very encouraging this weekend. All the more impressive being that the opponents were the kingpins ‘Kilkenny’. The two U14 regional development squads (Casements and Slemish) both narrowly defeated our guests. The U15 County Squad had a comprehensive victory over the Cats Development Squad as did the U16's who I am lead to believe have an 'exceptional' squad this year, fingers crossed these guys will work as hard as Kilkenny between now and minor level, we don’t want to drop back. Our minors played both Dublin and Kilkenny U17s with good wins in both matches. At the same time as this was happening the Minor Footballers were beating Derry in the Shield which is also a step in the right direction. It would be good to get a line or two from the parents/mentors/coaches who were at the matches as any good news story should be broadcast countywide.

Well said Club Coach AND our hurlers won well whilst our footballers graced Croke Park only to be defeated, but gained promotion to Division 3.

If parents / mentors / coaches read this - feel free to email me good news stories and i will post them on our various social media outlets.

Could we not do more to let people know what games are on - I know those that know do know! But we have a marvellous spectacle in hurling ( biased!) that people should know about? Even once per month select games in different areas and promote and invite people/ the public? They don't have to be what we consider to be the top games. It could make someone's day!

All games are promoted on our Website, Facebook and Twitter. The Kilkenny visit was promoted on FB & Twitter John and on the Antrim games and Development Website.

All clubs will be promoted and yes I intend to promote many clubs, events and games during the year.

Great Ideas #KeepThemComing We have big plans for the year! #PositivityWILLDefeatNegativity

Ps We are on Instagram as well.

The County Board

22nd April 2016

The members of An Coiste Bainisti would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our senior footballers and their management team on promotion to Div 3. We also wish them the very best of luck for tomorrow's league final against Louth in Croke park 4pm. Tomorrow is also a very important day for our senior hurlers and their new management team as they play Kildare in Parnell park at 1pm in the Christy Ring cup. Good luck and safe travel to all our sportsmen and supporters heading to Dublin. Let's get behind both teams on this very important day for Antrim GAA and let's bring some colour to Dublin.

While I commend the amount of effort our PRO is putting into promoting Antrim GAA on Twitter would it be possible to please turn off the Rebel Mouse responses as it clogs up feeds considering the amount of retweets that come through. Important information is being skipped over due to just scrolling past Antrim GAA tweets

We use rebel mouse to promote our clubs and provide newsletters to those subscribed to it. It works very well for the clubs and its users.

Div 4 hurling

On website now.

Gradings restrictions for invited teams

4th April 2016

. Are there any grading restrictions placed on the new teams in Div 3 - Ballinascreen and Eoghan Ruadh? Do they play their senior or senior reserve teams in the ACHL Div 3?

All teams as part of entry into the all county leagues are subject to antrim bye laws. Ballinascreen as a senior club will grade 15 players and they will not play in their all county team. Eoghan Ruadh will grade 15 but they are of intermediate standard equivalent to the antrim clubs in div 3

Remembering Casement.

22nd March 2016

Absolutely uplifting to read the words of Gearoid Robinson to commemorate the values of Roger Casement and their relevance to the GAA and our contemporary society. The outworking of those sentiments into deeds of inclusivity is an opportunity for us in our time. Hopefully Gearoid's address is widely publicised.
