Procedures for Clubs to follow for the Application of Loans, Grants and Infrastructure Development

  • Clubs must engage through their Club Secretary with the County Development Officer before any approach is made to Comhairle Uladh.
  • Antrim GAA Offer a free consultation with the County Development Committee to discuss any proposed club loans, grants and developments.
  • A Pro Forma will be issued to any Club wishing to borrow money.
  • The Coiste Bainisti must be satisfied that any Application for Loans from any financial Institution is fully completed and properly documented in accordance with the regulations laid down by Coiste Forbairt Fisiciúil Pleanáil na gClub, Comhairle Uladh
  • Credit Checks will be carried out on Clubs by Funders. Terms and Conditions are to be signed off by Club Officers.
  • This procedure can take a number of months and will depend on the governance of each individual club and access to information.
  • Clubs must allow for this time scale when planning such ventures.
  • Information Required will be assessed by the Coiste Bainisti and if approved will then be forwarded to Coiste Forbairt Fisiciúil Pleanáil na gClub, Comhairle Uladh for final approval.


Documentation required :

The Club Accounts from the last Club AGM with a Balance Sheet (The Balance Sheet is a statement of the Clubs Assets & Liabilities.)

 The Current Year’s Income & Expenditure (Up to Date)

 A Letter of Offer from the Bank or other Financial Institution (Lender)

 A Bank Statements for all Accounts from all lenders (Bank, CU, UCIT, Personal Loans) for each of the last 3 months.

 A Cash Flow Projections - over the first 5 years of the loan.

 A Statement of Existing Borrowings

 A Club Profile Form

 A Declaration of Trust

 The Plans of the Proposed Development (If Appropriate)

 An Insurance letter,

 A VAT Registration Certificate,

 A CASC / Section 235 Registration Certificate,

 A Contractor’s Insurance Certificate (if applicable)

 A Letter from the County Committee indicating their support for the project and their approval of the amount being borrowed.

Ace Maps and Defined Land Ownership

ACE map show the area of land that you own or lease but is not a legal document. These maps are £31.25 each for an A3 size map. Each club is encouraged to consult with their Solicitors re land ownership and leases.


Grant Applications to Ulster Council


Building Control Approval and Planning Permission:

Building Control and/or Planning Approval are required if a Club is making a material change, change of use, extending their premises, carrying out a demolition or constructing a new building/carpark/access roadway etc more information can be obtained through the Links attached.

Clubs can commission Professional Construction Consultants to carry out outline design and obtain planning approval but most funders will not reimburse clubs for consulting work done before a letter of offer has been signed.
