Great to see the Saffron Business Forum getting off to a great start. It's obvious that there is some great work going on quietly and efficiently behind the scenes. Strange that no one can home on here and post something positive about this latest development, especially such a vital and important component of the success we hope to achieve when this current generation of juveniles develop into senior players. Keep us the fantastic work.
There is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes. Thank you for the positive input.

Alright son. Doing a great job as PRO. Do you know when the next round of the U21 championship is on? Will it be played every weekend until it's over?
Next round scheduled for 15th October, Club secretaries have the fixture planners. The website has been updated for upcoming games

Was at the game in ahoghill on Wednesday nite and the guy at the gate refused to take euro. Can you confirm if euro is acceptable to be paid in to club championship games ?
Euro was taken at the gate at that particular game. The price was £8 and the gate men also accepted 10 euro on the night. To confirm , yes Euro is acceptable.
Thanks.

Hi. Just a message of appreciation and thanks to Antrim's PRO who went beyond the call of duty recently to get me a few copies of the Antrim Senior Club Hurling Final. When the favour was raised, it was attended to immediately with no bother and with minimal fuss. Much appreciated again. #goingtheextramile
Glad you got sorted Martin.

Was at the semi final last night. As a neutral I was disappointed to hear people from BOTH clubs complaining about the referee. The referee was consistent with both teams. Maybe some peopl from these clubs need to look closer to home instead of constantly blaming referees. #whingers.

Iam working tonite gutted . What sort of county puts a champ semi on mid week. Between 2 clubs separated by 3 miles, & making them travel 30 miles away to play it. Unbelievable, just when u thought Antrim couldn't get more selfish and narrow minded. I would appreciate any updates please guys Up a Lamhs
I hope you got all the updates Paddy. A tight game tonight. We will get you highlights on the website,Facebook and twitter. #NothingBeatsBeingThere.

If you were to believe from reading some guestbooks you could be inclined to believe that GAA in Antrim is in the doldrums... whilst the reality is that there is a hive of activity throughout the County! We have moaned about changing structures and strategies for years - but our young ones full of life and vitality don't use words like that! Yes credit in abundance to the PRO for gaining the confidence of clubs in them coming forward to showcase the day to day vibrancy that is Antrim GAA! It is what is happening on the ground - working away ; working at it that will take us onwards and upwards!
I tend to steer clear of the negative forums.
The clubs are the future of Antrim and if one child picks up a hurl or one club benefits from the promotion they get from our social media platforms then #ItsWorking.
Thank you for the great feedback. I hope you enjoy this photo and message!

Would like to congratulate County U15 football Development squad coaches and all those involved behind the scenes in county office for a well organised set up. The lads from our club and other clubs have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of their involvement in the squads. Some great work being carried out. Looking forward to helping the launch of Dunsilly on the 15th. Exciting times to be a saffron
I had the pleasure of experiencing a few sessions of the Development squads and they are very well organised and well run by the mentors. Its great to see our County Managers , players and Brian Magee along with Pat Hughes giving a hand during the sessions.

Woodlands floodlight changing rooms, fenced off, car parking , more can be said for the nonsense that is Dunsilly - no floodlights etc and still getting county underage games anything yet anything to get GAA out of Belfast - even when casement was around you still brought other counties to backwater towns with limited to no facilities to appease the mob.... Do you actually Dublin would play games in balbriggan, lusk etc would or would cork move hurling games to fermoy or Middleton etc grow up anything to stop Belfast players playing for clubs in their city with their supporters - since we lost casement Belfast has not hosted a county senior final why ??. Lastly stop telling lies I checked today with Queen's as yet they have had no formal approach - saffron vision- must be wearing sunglasses
Very Constructive.
I hope we are not trying to "get GAA out of Belfast". If that's true no one has informed me of that plan.

Hi can you confirm if 2 teams go up from division 2 hurling league this year?
Yes 2 up from Division 2 this year.

Surely with two city teams playing a semi final it should be in the city Lamh Dhearg/St Galls? the DUB stadium pitch would be best equipped instead of trailing both teams up to the south west midweek?
The Dub is unavailable. There is currently no other venue capable of coping with this midweek match under lights in SA.

There is often criticism and unfair criticism of referees - as there is with players and teams! Yesterday in Ballycastle the ref used great discretion to create conditions for a real competitive game. This is what all players train and get up to match fitness for. The sheer effort expended by the players yesterday in the first half was commendable. Commendable because the ref did not blow up every single indiscretion. It is not strictly come dancing with points allocated for whatever! We are behind where we would like to be ( relative to strong Counties) and it will take effort in matches - so refs take a leaf out of the Ref's book yesterday and let her flow! Of course dirty, deliberate fouling has no part in hurling but our refs can spot that. And on a general note hurling refereeing in the County has improved immensely over the past decade. Well done to all associated with upping standards all around.
Owen let the game flow and his message to both teams before the game was to "hurl away" and that both teams did.

With the StGalls v Lamh Dhearg semi final postponed should the County Board consider using the Dub mid week under the lights? just a suggestion.
