Congratulations to Cuchullians Dunloy on winning the Minor Hurling Championship down in Cushendall. Fair play to those involved in the newly formed Naomh Padraig in giving players from the small clubs the chance to compete on days like this.

Coach

25th September 2015

Hi, I am interested in becoming a hurling coach within my club. What courses/steps should I take to allow me to help with the coaching of my club teams?

Contact the Coaching and Games Development officers in the county office and they will be happy to guide you along the correct path.

Well done Dunloy

21st September 2015

Generous and well earned praise has been directed to the stewards from Dunloy not only on what they did but their pleasant and courteous manners. It is good that people recognise this! Well done.

Over the weekend players currently involved at County level have the experience and edge to call upon when needed. Good County players can become great club players through all that is involved in County set ups.

The stadium and it's delivery is one thing but the common denominator is the work put in by clubs to attract and develop young people. That work - voluntary work - week in/ week out is what will build and make us strong. There will be limited use for a stadium or for great club facilities if clubs don 't do the work with young ones?

No argument from me.

Mutual respect

17th September 2015

Great to witness the mutual respect that is there throughout our County. That what binds us together is very strong. The turmoil and emotions of the heat of battles is just that - it passes and respect is what is left. Respect, solidarity and frienship is the real winner. And most evident when needed most.

"No one is suggesting that club games will fill a newly developed Casement but I am sure that our club players would relish playing there." I never suggested that you did!! It will be far from it as I'm sure you'll agree. A 10% full stadium make for a terrible atmosphere at games, so I can't help but think (from my own personal experiences) the majority of players and spectators would take atmosphere over facilities any day.

Let us work to get the stadium and then work even harder to create the situation that we have our players performing in top class facilities in a great atmosphere.
