“The Last time that Jersey was in Croker, Danny Wore It”
11th August 2022
Oisin Glenariff CLG Caolan O’Connor moved to Cork as part of his placement. He started playing for St Finabarr’s managed by Cork goalkeeping legend Ger Cunningham, who told Caolan that he swooped an Antrim player’s jersey after the 1986 All Ireland SHC semi-final in Croke Park.
Caolan would liked to have kept the jersey, but he knew that there was someone else that it would mean much more to, Danny’s widow Anne Marie McNaughton.
This past weekend Danny’s granddaughter Caoimhe, also wearing the number 12 jersey won an All-Ireland with the Antrim Camogie Junior squad. The famous jersey doing a full circle and returning to Croker 💛🤍
