North Antrim festival of Hurling.

Please see attached team photo of the South Antrim squad that travelled to Dunloy & Ballycastle last Saturday and Sunday to compete in the North Antrim festival of Hurling.

This squad was selected on the back of the U13 Talent ID camps that ran every Thursday in July this summer. The sessions which were carried out by Antrim coaching and games staff seen over 40 thirteen year old hurlers, from clubs throughout Belfast, attend the camps regardless of ability. Thank you to St Johns for letting us use the pitch for these sessions.

At the festival of hurling the South Antrim lads got to play 5 games over the course of the weekend. In the Final played in Ballycastle on Sunday, South Antrim played the North Antrim regional team. Both sides gave a fantastic exhibition of hurling which was a fitting end to a well organised and run competition. The biggest positive for all to see was that both teams have very talented, skilful and well-disciplined hurlers which bodes well for next seasons U14 county development squad.

A big thank you to Declan Heggarty for inviting the South Antrim Squad to compete and to his team of volunteers for assisting in the smooth running of the competition. Thanks to Dunloy & Ballycastle for the use of the pitches for the games.
