New Fundraising Initiative for Antrim GAA
Club Aontroma and finance sub committee launch new integrated fundraising plan
Club Aontroma the fundraising body established by Antrim gaels in 2006 has developed a close collaboration with Antrim GAA's newly established Finance Sub Committee, Coiste Urraiochta under the Chairmanship of Aontroim Treasurer Pól MacCanna. The existing membership scheme ‘One Antrim’ will be amended and re launched in a way which attracts more members at a higher level of income for the county.
Pól MacCanna said today;
“We applaud the work of the volunteer committee which has led Club Aontroma over the last number of years. That has actually been a small number of people who generated significant revenue for the last decade to help develop GAA activities in Antrim. They also developed and drove the One Antrim scheme with a considerable degree of success. However it is appropriate to re-evaluate the scheme. We all believe that a much closer working relationship between an Coiste Bainisti and Club Aontroma will help ensure that the fundraising delivers on its full potential.”
Club Aontroma chairman Colm McKenna welcomed the pooling of effort going forward.
“Ultimately we all are all seeking the same thing; a successful Antrim on and off the field. New structures are in place now and while success comes slowly we believe that we are making progress and I have no doubt there are significant numbers of people who are prepared to financially support the county. That means support for infrastructure projects such as Dunsilly and support for our development squads who are improving year after year.”
The new Coiste Urraiochta has already attracted a significant number of commercial donors, and the senior Antrim Championships have been sponsored by Northern Switchgear and Bathshack. A corporate launch event for the new fundraising drive will take place on the 7th October.
Plans are also underway for the establishment of a Saffron Business Network where businesses supporting the county will meet quarterly to network with each other and hear from invited high profile guests from the business and sporting worlds.
Pól MacCanna said,
“As a County Board and supporters of Aontroim, we are all in this togetherCombining the efforts of Club Aontroma and an Coiste Bainisti through this close collaboration creates a new dynamic and facilities businesses and individuals of all sizes to contribute to the county. Thats the spirit which will underpin our Saffron Business Network and which will help drive Aontroim to success.”
