Designated Liaison Person (DLP) - Safeguarding 3 Workshop
The GAA Safeguarding 3 DLP training workshop is a mandatory requirement for all of those in the role of DLP within their clubs and County boards throughout all Associations the GAA family. Club and County Chairpersons automatically assume the role of DLP in their respective unit unless otherwise another member of the unit has been appointed and ratified. The DLP Programme consists of a 3 hour interactive training workshop that will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to assist them in the discharge of their duties in this very important Safeguarding role.
Topics covered include:
- Legislation
- Gaelic Games Child Safeguarding Structures
- Your role as Designated Liaison Person
- Dealing with Allegations & Concerns of Abuse
- Communications with Parents/Agencies as appropriate
- Reporting Procedures
It is also a pre-requisite that participants have completed the Safeguarding 1 - Basic Awareness of Child Protection in Sport workshop in advance of attending on the night, and participants must complete the full 3 hour workshop before Certification.
