Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Belfast Indoor 5 a-side finals
12th December 2016
St John's GAC hall was the venue for the Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Belfast Indoor 5 a-side finals. Bunscoil an tSleibh Dhuibh, Holy Child, St Kieran's and Holy Trinity had progressed from the group stages to contest the finals.
The result was still unclear going into the final game between St Kieran's and Holy Child. After a quick start by Holy Child, St Kieran's got into their stride with Alice Rooney strong in defence and Tierna McGeough, a p5, fighting like a tiger in midfield. But it was 'Player of the Tournament' and captain Orleigha McGuinness, who had scored all 28 goals in St Kieran's two days of play, who tormented the Andersonstown Gaels defence. Orleigha was able to penetrate the defence and get the necessary scores to lift the title. Both St Kieran's and Holy Child go forward to the Antrim Allianz All-County Indoor finals in February.
