1 minute with Under 15 Development squad player:
Player name
Brian Rogers
Club
St. Enda's
Favoured playing Position
Midfield
Any superstitions before a game
I try not to have any superstitions, I prefer just to go out and play the game and focus on the task at hand.
Favourite meal
I'd probably eat anything if I'm going to be honest. But it's hard to beat some steak and potatoes.
Favourite Antrim footballer
Niall McKeever
Toughest Opponent
The Derry squad this year was one of the toughest opponents we faced. A very physical team with some very good footballers.
Best player played with
I hope I don't offend anybody, but I'd say Michael McNamee
Favourite coach
All the coaches from the development squad this year have been very good and drove us on as a squad during the season. Thomas McNulty, my club manager, has also been a great manager over the past couple of seasons and has been a great mentor to myself.
Player to watch out for
Eoin Nagle and hopefully I'll not sound too biased, but would have to mention my brother, Peárse ,a great shot stopper in both codes.
Most memorable game
We had a great win in the league a year ago against Ballymena , we came from behind to win in added time. The following day I played my first game for Antrim so it was definitely a memorable weekend.
Influences on your career so far
I'd say a number of people and things have had a big influence of my time playing so far. I think though that your teammates and coaches always have the biggest influence on how you train and play.
Aspirations for the future
I would love to be still enjoying the game in 30 years time . It has been something which has given me many experiences and lessons which I hope can continue into the future. It would be even better if it was injury free but we can all wish
What has been your experience of the development squads to date?
I have been involved in the development squads for 2 years now and during that time I have played against 17 counties in both Gaelic football and hurling. Playing with the top players from the county and across other counties has been a super experience.
What has been most beneficial for you from your involvement in the squads?
As I mentioned before playing at a high level both in training and matches has been one of the most beneficial factors, as well as the strength and conditioning programme which I have found to have a great impact whilst playing.
