Gaelic Voices for Change ‘Solidarity Sleep-Out’ is a major success

CRLL2189Past and present county players from counties throughout Ulster were in Cornmarket Belfast on Saturday night for the Gaelic Voices for Change Solidarity Sleep Out which raised funds for homeless charities and heightened awareness of the homeless situation thoughout Ireland. Legends like former Down star Ross Carr, Derry’s Joe Brolly and Antrim’s Jane Adams joined present day stars from Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie to raise funds for this very worthy cause. In an excersise that was repeated in Dublin, Galway, Corak, Limerick, Sligo, Wexford, Carlow, Naas, Portlaoise and even across the ‘pond’ in New York and Boston the volunteers encouraged Christmas revelers to donate to a great cause. With most people in the party mood the ‘craic was mighty’.
