Social Media Policy & Guidelines 2019
25th April 2019
The GAA Social Media Policy & Guidelines were updated at the beginning of 2019. They contain some significant additions and changes; many due to the introduction of GDPR and how it impacts our use of digital and social channels. As we come into a very busy time of year, we would like to remind our Members of this updated document. It is crucial that anyone who has access to a social media channel representing a GAA Unit, or who communicates with members via digital channels or messaging apps is familiar with this document and abides by its direction.
The GAA Social Media Policy & Guidelines can be downloaded from GAA.ie HERE. The same document has been attached to this mail, along with a summarised 'Go To Guide' that also includes some FAQ areas.
We would ask that these documents be circulated within your Club and suggest that the 'Go To Guide' be printed and made available in your Clubhouse.
These guidelines will allow all parties to benefit from the use of social media, while minimising potential risks and protecting everyone involved.
Should you have any questions on the contents of the Policy & Guidelines, don't be afraid to ask your County or Provincial PRO, or contact communications@gaa.ie.
