LOOP OF THE LOUGH POWERED BY PEDALS

Naomh Seamus, Aldergrove GAC, would like to remind all cyclists that the 2016 Aldergrove Cycling Challenge ‘Loop of the Lough’will take place on Saturday 9th July 2016.

 

With just days to go to this special 77 mile cycling event, sponsored by Mercury Security Management, St James GAC and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice are reminding cyclists that its not too late to register.

 

Registration costs just £20 and cyclists can challenges themselves to undertake the 77 mile ‘Loop of the Lough’ on their own or as part of a 7 bike relay team to raise funds for the club and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. 

 

The 77mile route around Lough Neagh will begin at St. James Aldergrove GAC and travel through Randalstown, Cargin, Ardboe, Magahery, Derrymacash and Aghagallan before finishing at St. James Aldergrove GAC.

 

Along with Naomh Seamus members, Antrim GAA are alsosupporting this special fundraising event with over 20 relay teams having already signed up to take part and raise much needed club funds and to support life-limited children and their families living across Northern Ireland.

 

Speaking ahead of this special fundraising event, spokesperson for Naomh Seamus, John Jones said;

 

“Final preparations are underway for our ‘Loop of the Lough’ event and we are all very excited about welcoming all the participants who are taking part in the cycling challenge. Our goal is to raise a massive £10,000 for the local children’s charity and any further income will be going directly to Naomh Seamus so we can continue to support our local community.

 

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mercury Security Management and all our sponsors for helping us to make this a memorable event”.

Jenay Doyle, Community Fundraiser for NI Children’s Hospice added;

“We are delighted to be the chosen charity for ‘Loop of The Lough’ and would like to thank Naomh Seamus, Aldergrove GAC, for all their support. Each year NI Children’s Hospice cares for approximately 300 life-limited children and their families. This is only possible because of the continued support we receive from the local community. Naomh Seamus have set themselves a goal of raising £10,000 for our charity which is enough money to pay for 333 hours of Children’s Hospice Care. We simply can’t thank them enough for their support.”

 

Registration costs £20 per person. Cyclists can register on the day at 8am at St Josephs Primary School, Glenavy Road or by email in advance to acc@stjamesaldergrove.com
