Leinster 'A' Colleges championship Antrim Colleges 1-16 Dublin South Colleges 3-14
Antrim Colleges were unlucky to come out on the losing side in their Leinster Colleges championship knock out game today at the GAA national games centre in Abbotstown Co.Dublin.
In a very competitive first half it was Dublin who were ahead at half time due to some clinical finishing by their lively forwards. Antrim will rue the opening ten minutes of the game when they failed to capitalise on some good scoring opportunities. HT score 3-08 to 1-06.
The half time team talk had the desired effect in what was an all round excellent team display from Antrim, the glensmen out scoring their opponents by 10 points to 6 in the second period. It was difficult to single out individuals but Captain Conor Boyd of Cross and Passion and Tiernan Murphy of St Marys deserve a special mention for their efforts today.
South Dublin now go on to face the winners of Meath or Laois Colleges.
The coaching team of Kieran Megraw, Antoin McCaffery and Simon McCrory would like to thank all the players who committed themselves to the Antrim Colleges team this year, you certainly represented your schools, club and county superbly well.
