FACE COVERINGS AT GAMES

Due to the tightening of restrictions and local lockdown in almost 2 thirds of the Saffron County, Coiste Bainisti yesterday evening agreed the following:

In line with government recommendations and recommendations from Ulster GAA which state that face coverings should be worn when it is difficult to maintain social distancing, all spectators attending games in the County are being asked to wear a face covering. (In line with guidance this requirement does not apply to: those under the age of 13 those exempt due to a medical condition) We realise that the games are outside and people have more space than they would inside but when at games, people tend to stand in close proximity to one another, despite the best efforts of stewards encouraging social distancing.

No one enjoys wearing a mask or a face covering, but this is for the health and safety of everyone in the County. This has been a tough year for everyone and we are so glad that we have got to see some GAA played in the County, some amazing games at that, with so much talent on display in both hurling and football. We have great volunteers in this county , committed coaches, brilliant supporters. Please work with us. We understand that some people aren’t happy and there have been some extremely negative comments on social media regarding this but we all need to work together for the common good and that is to maintain a safe environment where our games can be enjoyed. Let’s work together, let’s keep each other safe and let’s continue to enjoy our wonderful Gaelic games.

Ní neart go cur le chéile

There is no strength without unity

Bainigí sult as na cluichí atá romhainn agus coinnígí slán!!

Enjoy the games and stay safe!!
