Please see details of the Club Leadership Development being run by Páirc an Chrócaigh. The Programme is for the benefit of club officers in Antrim. It is anticipated that this course will be run on Saturday 8th April at The Dunsilly Hotel Antrim where a light lunch will be provided. Start Time 9.30am Finish time 12.15 Please take time to read the details below.

PLEASE REPLY by return e mail asap  to pap.molloy@ntlworld.com WITH THE NAMES OF YOUR CLUB OFFICERS THAT WILL ATTEND.

This course will benefit your club. To give you an idea of the uptake of training over 1100 Club Officers through 31 events in 18 of the 32 counties. The training is on track to reach 25 Counties before April 12th which, when we consider what was delivered last year (1200 Officers in 16 Counties), would mean we will have had an event in every county in Ireland in the last 18 months and trained over 3000 Officers. With all this in mind, I would be very keen then to ensure we run this event in our county.

The feedback from people attending these training events is very positive. Significant work has gone into the design of each module and the training of the facilitators or Associates that deliver them. To give you an idea of the calibre of people involved - we have several Central Council Staff including the GAA Head of Communications Alan Milton (PRO Module), National Finance Manager Kathy Slattery (Treasurer Module), former Uachtaráin Liam O’Neill (Secretary / Chairperson Modules). What is more, the modules themselves all include workshop based activities so they are less about sitting listening to someone at the top of the room reading slides, and more about work shopping different tasks related to your role with other people (with varying levels of experience) performing the same role in another club.

We have several options when it comes to modules, aimed at the Principal Officers in a Club (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO). The core part of the programme includes an Induction module which all officers would attend collectively followed then by a role specific module. We also have several optional modules: “Communication in a GAA Club” and “Games Development & Player Welfare” (both for Chairs and Secretaries only) as well as “Getting Started in Office 365” which is again for all Principal Officers.

I have attached here a one-page information sheet.
