Antrim keep up the push for promotion from Divison 2A
12th March 2017
Antrim keep up the push for promotion from Divison 2A of the Allianz Hurling League with a 2-18 to 2-11 win over Armagh at the Athletic Grounds.
Eoghan Campbell, Conor Johnston & Conor McCann took early points for the saffrons
The Saffrons led by four points at the break with Ciaran Clarke’s strike raising a green flag in the 22nd minute.
The Orchard county regrouped after the break and took the lead 14 minutes in but that advantage didn’t last long as Deaglan Murphy sprung to Antrim's rescue today hitting seven points after being introduced in the second half.
Antrim had seen their 4 point half time lead turn into a one point deficit when the Rossa man was introduced and with the help of fellow substitutes James McNaughton and Daniel McKernan turned things around to keep the promotion hopes on track.
Conor McKinley and Conor Johnston scored a couple of nice points to raise the white flag.
Conor McCann sealed the win with a fine goal and Antrim now sit top of Divison 2a with 1 game remaining.
Antrim face Westmeath on Sunday 26th March at Cushendall and we hope there will be a large crowd to roar the saffrons on.
There will be free posters of the team on that day so bring your juveniles to the game.
It will also be an opportunity to have the posters signed by the team and meet the players.
