I am writing to ask for your support with an upcoming fundraiser ANTRIM GAA TO WALK TOGETHER IN BELFAST TO DEFEAT BOWEL CANCER
We are encouraging clubs in the county to join Bowel Cancer's Walk Together in Belfast on Saturday 7 September 2019 11am
Join us on our 5 mile walk starting at the Lock Keepers Inn and following the Lagan towpath along the riverside and old canal system through the peaceful and diverse woodlands.
It’s a perfect opportunity to bring us together to show our support for those undergoing treatment, remember loved ones and raise funds to help stop people dying from bowel cancer.
I encourage as many people as possible to take part and help support this important cause while enjoying a family day out.
Bowel cancer is the third biggest cancer killer but with your help we can change that. Please save the date and encourage your club to join us in supporting this wonderful event to bring everyone affected by bowel cancer together.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the north. More than 1,100 people are diagnosed with the disease every year and 400 die each year from the disease. However, bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone diagnosed at the earliest stage will survive bowel cancer but this drops significantly as the disease develops. Poor awareness means that only 1 in 10 cases are detected at an early stage which often means it is too late to be treated”
For more information or to register for the event please visit https://www.bowelcanceruk.org....
Registration costs: £10 adult and £5 child (under fives go free).
You can also register in store at O’Neill's sportswear in the Kennedy Centre, Belfast.
We want to see teams from all clubs in Antrim taking part and helping to make this a truly memorable event.
Email me if your club would like to participate as i can facilitate a club registration day and please forward this email to you health and wellbeing club officer.
THE CLUB WITH THE MOST REGISTRATIONS WILL WIN A SET OF JERSEYS FROM ONEILLS
I look forward to hearing from you.
