Antrim Senior Hurling Management Vacancy

The position of Antrim Senior Hurling Manager is currently vacant and the Antrim County Committee is inviting expressions of interest from candidates to take on this role. The closing date for such expressions is 5.00pm on Thursday 2nd July 2026 and all correspondence should be sent, by email to the Secretary at secretary.antrim@gaa.ie. Nominations received beyond the deadline will not be accepted. The County Committee is also accepting nominations from GAA Clubs in Antrim. It also lies within the remit of the County Committee to identify potential candidates for this role.


It is noted that the general criteria for consideration for this post are as follows:
1. Ability to plan:
• Possess an ability to develop an effective game plan, including appropriate tactics and metrics to evidence progression of the team and individual players.
• Have ability to develop periodised operational plans that incorporate selection, injury, rehabilitation, communication, players returning to their clubs, discipline, conduct etc.


2. Building a Management Team:
• Demonstrate the aptitude to establish a high performing management team with the ability to delegate effectively and justify all appointments with a clear understanding of Hurling specific components.


3. Management and Leadership:
• Possess the experience and a positive track record in providing purpose, direction, and motivation to achieve success for the Antrim Senior Hurling Squad.
• Have the ability to shape the culture within the squad and instill the appropriate values, behaviours and attributes for all involved.
• Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with key Stakeholders.


The process 
Candidates should submit a single A4 cover letter to express their reasons for interest in the role and a brief summary of their relevant experience. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present to the committee based on the above criteria and additional information will be provided to candidates to assist them in preparing their presentation. Following interview, the decision on a recommended candidate will be brought to the Antrim County Committee for ratification.
