World Handball Champion Coming to Moneyglass
Carrickmore native Darragh Daly who is a 2 times World Handball Champion is coming to Moneyglass on Saturday 27th August. Darragh plays handball at the highest level both nationally and internationally and he is also the GAA National Handball Development Officer.
Handball is one of the lesser known GAA codes in our area but now is your opportunity to come along and see this brilliant, fast paced game which has had many luminaries of the sport including the great DJ Carey, Michael Ducksie Walsh and Richie Hogan.
Darragh will be in the Moneyglass Community Centre from 2pm where he will present a brief overview of the sport followed by some coaching and then an opportunity for anyone whether young/old or male/female to try Handball in a challenge match.
As demand for the matches is sure to be high and time will be limited you must inform Sean O'Boyle (sjmoboyle@aol.com or 07713 887 928) before Wednesday 24th August if you wish to participate so that the matches can be arranged.
If time permits Darragh will also play an exhibition match against another top county player.
Not matter where you're from you are very welcome to come along.
