Seancasey’s Journey…

Seancasey's journey began on October 18, 2023, with a diagnosis of a brain tumour at Antrim Area Hospital.

After further evaluations, including a CT scan and MRI, he was transferred to Belfast Children’s Hospital for immediate surgery, which took place on October 30, 2023, lasting nine hours.

Following surgery, Seancasey underwent a recovery period in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit before returning home on November 22, 2023.

Seancasey and his family travelled to Manchester in mid-December for a 3-day planning meeting with the medical team ahead of the treatment beginning. They then returned home to be reunited with Dakota, their family and their friends for Christmas.

Treatment plans were confirmed, including proton beam therapy in Manchester and subsequent chemotherapy in Belfast.

Seancasey and his family travelled back to Manchester on January 01, 2024, for proton beam therapy to start on January 02. With support from loved ones and medical staff,

Seancasey completed each session showing remarkable resilience and determination.

On February 9, 2024, Seancasey celebrated the completion of his proton beam therapy by ringing the bell, marking a significant milestone in his journey.

Looking ahead, Seancasey prepares for the next phase of treatment, starting chemotherapy in March 2024, with hope and determination for continued progress and healing.
